Star Turn to "party in the round"
10/05/01
Star Turn Hampton Cummings is expected to announce tour dates later this month. Unlike any of his previous tours the Turn has decided to play smaller venues than the Whitley Bay Social Club so that he can reach a "more select audience". His solicitors Norfolk & Chance issued this statement "After the hysterics at his last large venue concert, certain precautions have been taken to prevent a reacurrance of the violent scenes on the Whitley Bay water front. This year Star Turn will be wearing a tartan suit and matching stacks, which are designed to keep his body in check". The Turn and his band The Rhythm Bandits will be performing live at various ring roads around Newcastle and Gateshead.

Party in the car park
It is expected the Turn will be performing live at all venues to a select invited audience and at the princly cover charge of £2.50 a head (Including pie and pea supper) it is feared that many real fans will not be able to afford the ticket. Band member, ace spoon player, M.C. and concert chairman (and bar) Albert Charlton said " If they want to see a top turn they will pay! even if they have to get a provie oot, it's the way it is roond here man".
The festivities are expected to continue into the late evening when there will be a party in the car park to celebrate the first successful show of the tour. Hampton Cummings is expected to attend and fashion guru's are predicting another outing for the now famous trademark gold lame suit with silver trim.
